A brief trip to Hokkaido
I met up with a fellow Arctic researcher friend in, appropriately, Hokkaido last weekend. Unfortunately, it was a too-warm 5 degrees most of the time. However, there was lots of snow on the ground. Room at our hotel which featured a massive hot spring bath. Hopefully that catches me up to my quota… Until next…

Osaka Castle
Finally visited Osaka castle… Magnificent structure, with two layers of vast moats surrounding it! The current keep was actually only rebuilt back in the 1930s, but the original one was first erected about 500 years ago. Massive stones in the walls too!
